The Facilities Manager’s main responsibility is to ensure the smooth operations of the gallery. This person will manage and work closely with the Gallery Assistant to oversee a broad range of responsibilities including employee scheduling, ordering supplies, hanging shows, lighting, building systems, and general gallery maintenance. This will also include coordinating repairs and maintenance work on the buildings themselves. These responsibilities will be conducted across our various New York locations. Driving will also be required to our locations in Pennsylvania. The Facilities Manager will also be asked to occasionally staff the front desk, fielding phone calls, greeting clients, and creating a welcome and professional atmosphere in the gallery. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a managerial capacity and an ability to multi-task a variety of responsibilities.
Required:
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience managing a gallery or business
- Strong organization and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and delegate
- Comfortable lifting up to 50lb
Preferred:
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office
- Interest in and familiarity with 16th – 19th century engravings, maps, rare books, paintings, and antiques.
This is a full time, permanent position. The employee will work Monday through Friday, 10am – 6pm. Ideal candidate should be a professional, cheerful, and enthusiastic individual comfortable handling daily administrative tasks and client interactions in a high-pressure, but vibrant environment.
Salary commensurate with experience.
