Photographer Alex Webb and photographer/poet Rebecca Norris Webb are seeking a three-month intern (from Sept. 15-Dec. 15, 2022) to help with their Brooklyn studio and workshop program, working both in-person and remotely, about four hours a week. Applicants need a BA/BS in Photography (minor or double major in English a plus), excellent writing and digital skills, and at least 1-3 months of experience (another internship qualifies). We’re looking for someone who is interested in education/teaching (teaching experience is a plus), has good people or organizational skills, is kind and easy to work with, and ideally someone based in Brooklyn. Internship is unpaid and Educational Opportunities include:
• Mentorship from two artists, who between the two of them, have authored more than 20 books and dozens of exhibitions shown around the world
• First-hand experience about the creation of photographic projects, including the selection and sequencing of photograph books
• Learn techniques and strategies around exhibition layouts and production
• Participate in workshop talks discussing topics like book design and publishing, project development, editing and sequencing, and building relationships with subjects
• Hone your image editing skills by learning from the Webbs’ “intuitive editing” technique
• Gain key insight on the photographic industry, particularly in NYC
