Annual vocal competition for young opera singers between the ages of 20-30. Auditions will take place on Sat. November 9th, 2024 at 10am - 5:30pm at the Washington National Opera Studio located in the Takoma Park Neighborhood of Washington DC. Singers will be judged by three expert judges and will receive feedback from the judges at the conclusion of the event. Winners will advance to the Middle-Atlantic Region competition. This event is free to the public.
Singers must have advanced to the District Round via the Met Laffont Competition application/qualifying process and registered for the Capital District auditions through the Resonance platform
Singers that have advanced to the District Round will receive a notification regarding the opening of registration. You will be prompted to log in to your Dashboard, select a District, and pay the $30 application fee to reserve your spot.
Applicants must offer four operatic arias in the original language and key at the District and Region levels. Oratorio, musical theater, concert arias and zarzuela are not permitted, but operetta arias are allowed. Selections should demonstrate contrasting musical styles and at least two languages.

Street parking available. Hourly public parking lots are available behind the Laurel Ave Shops (entrance at Trust
Bank), the corner of Carroll and Willow Aves ($5 per day), and at the Takoma Metro
Station.
