The 2021-22 Illinois District Competition brings together qualifying young artists entering The Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition. Winner(s) of the Illinois District will advance to the Central Region Finals to be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022.

Health and Wellness Guidelines:
Proof of vaccination is mandatory for all guests, patrons, participants, volunteers, and staff. Valid CDC vaccination cards (original, hard copy, or digital copy) will be checked upon entry.
Any person who feels unwell or (a) has any COVID-19 Symptoms (b) has had a positive COVID-19 test in the past 10 days, or (c) has had close contact with anyone confirmed or suspected of having COVID-19 agrees not to not attend.
All guests, patrons, participants, volunteers, and staff must wear a face covering while in the venue. Please note that bandanas, neck gaiters, and masks with exhalation valves are not accepted. Singers on stage are permitted to be unmasked while performing.
Wherever possible, please abide by physical distancing guidelines by maintaining a six-foot distance from others not part of your group.
Attendees understand that there is an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any public place where people are present. All guests and patrons voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
Facility staff and Laffont Competition volunteers reserve the right to require visitors who do not follow our guidelines to leave the event immediately. Any attendees who are disrespectful or discourteous to other guests, staff, or volunteers may also be asked to leave.
The competition will last approximately 4.5 hours, including 3 intermissions and an awards ceremony.

Paid parking is available at the Grant Park South Parking Garage accessed via Michigan Avenue. Ganz Hall are located on the 7th floor. All attendees must submit their names to the Illinois District Director at least 48 hours prior to the event.
All contestants, staff, volunteers, and attendees must show valid photo ID and proof of COVID vaccination upon entry to Roosevelt University's 430 S. Michigan Ave. campus. Digital copies vaccination cards are acceptable.
