About Event

South Carolina District Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition

Singers are asked to arrive at least 45 to 60 minutes before your scheduled time to sing.

  • The Met Competitio~~n~~ will begin at 10 AM. The Registration Desk is located in lobby of the Spears Center for the Arts. A volunteer will meet you and show you to practice rooms and the Singers' Waiting Room, Room 136.
  • We will break for lunch from 12 PM to 1 PM.
  • The competition is scheduled to conclude between 3PM and 3:30 PM. All singers are asked to be on stage for the announcement of the winners and the encouragement award winners.
  • Immediately after the competition concludes, the judges will deliberate, and winners will be announced.
  • Judges will confer with singers in Room 137 immediately after the winners are announced.
  • The competition is free and open to the public. We welcome an audience.
