About

Casting "XIMER." Note: Producers John Lant and Markus Ferraro in association with Write Act Repertory are seeking Non-Equity LGBTQ+ actors strongly encouraged to apply for the Off-Broadway production of "XIMER." Play will be focused on LGBTQ+ tragedies and revenge. Rehearsals will take place starting with limited rehearsals starting in late June. XIMER will be a short run with performances in October contracted from early October to early Nov. The production will be in-person in compliance with Covid Safety protocols, TBD, based on Federal, State and County regulations. A rehearsal stipend of $250.00 will be provided to each actor upon completion of first public performance / $50.00 per performance will be provided to each actor upon completion of the run. Storyline: Bradley Fitch comes out to now estranged parents after proposing to James Honeycomb and is immediately kicked out of the home. Bradley's sister, Miss Dixie, takes Bradley in to the big city of Spectral inspired by Frank Miller's Sin City. Consumed by the nightlife, Bradley’s naivety is taken advantage of and Bradley's murdered in a hate crime. This death awakens the XIMER inside the seventh sense of Miss Dixie and along with it, four ethereal spirits Dixie's past lives. Armed with this new power Dixie's seeks vengeance for Bradley's murder and soon finds taking matters into her own hands, the only option left. XIMER is about the pain endured by many in the LGBTQ+ community and shows how pain can become power in the right hands. Though dark and ominous, XIMER is about the light within us all, driving us to stand up for what’s right and shows that love will always win in the end no matter what.

Warning: Explicit Content with adult themes - sexually explicit themes, suicide, substance abuse, violence, profane language in the script. NO NUDITY. This play is for mature audiences and is rated NC-17.

Commitment
Rehearsals will begin in early July with performances during the weekends of October 2022. We generally rehearse on evenings based on actor/creative team availability. The full schedule is created post-casting, but there will be 1-2 rehearsals per week for the beginning half of the rehearsal process. Depending on what is completed in rehearsals, rehearsal frequency ramps up as we get closer to the tech and performance dates.
