The ideal candidate for this position is a highly organized, detail-oriented, resourceful, intellectually nimble self-starter and critical thinker with strong interpersonal skills.
Candidate will be expected to participate in every level of the production process in the fabrication of large-scale sculptures and installations. The ideal candidate must have advanced experience using Adobe Illustrator. Advanced knowledge of 3D software such as AutoCAD, Sketchup, Rhino or other related software is highly desired, but not required. Candidate will be expected to work in all areas of the studio – administrative, tactical, strategic, and research. Strong writing skills are a must as this position requires the ability to efficiently interpret and convey technical information. This exceptional candidate should have experience working in an art studio or similar work environment. Candidate should be able to switch gears quickly between conceptual work, administrative duties, and more tactical studio-related tasks.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND TASKS
Studio:
• Occasionally assist in the fabrication of sculptural studio work
• Assist in designing digital and physical maquettes of sculptures and installations
• Coordinate and perform general studio maintenance
• When needed, oversee contractors for studio deliveries, updates and buildouts
• Frequently source contractors for assisting in production
Research:
• Assist artist in conducting research
• Produce research documentation, indexes, and outlines
• Research production processes
• Conduct in-depth materials research including performing materials tests in-studio
• Develop frameworks and best practices for organizing research practices
• Review and compile image, audio and video footage as needed
Administrative:
• Manage studio production calendars
• Manage studio email
• Communicate with institutions on behalf of artist
• Manage consignment and exhibition agreements
• Develop administrative and organizational best practices for studio
• Maintain inventory and archive
• Assist in designing exhibition layouts using 3D modeling software (SketchUp, Rhino, etc.)
• Coordinate documentation of work
• Maintain and update website and social media accounts

COMPENSATION AND HOURS
Pay rate starts at $30/hr.
Position starts at two full days per week.
